Criticizing Brooke Shields

The conversation with Matt Lauer about drugs for mental issues stemmed from actress Brooke Shields decision to take antidepressants to help with her postpartum depression. Cruise bashed her choice and condemned her actions saying that he has never agreed with psychiatry, even before his belief in Scientology, even saying “psychiatry is pseudoscience.”

He also added that Brooke didn’t seem to understand the history of psychiatry and how negative her decision was. Shields eventually hit back saying, “I think I’m more qualified to talk about that (than he is).”
