When it comes to their actual games, they really know how to get their fans excited. Celebrities like Beyoncé and Jay-Z often sit court side to watch them. It is also a game with millions of dollars at stake. Here are some of the greatest players in the NBA’s history: 

Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant joined the LA Lakers as shooting guard in 1996 and continued playing for them over 20 seasons. He was loved by his fans and had a special bond with former LA Lakers player Shaquille O’Neale, and they both led the Lakers to three consecutive championships.

Kobe was the son of former NBA player Joe Bryant. At the age of thirty four he became the youngest player in the history of the league to reach thirty thousand career points. Bryant won four All-Star MVP Awards which are the most in NBA history (tied with Bob Pettit). On January 26, 2020, Kobe Bryant lost his life in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. He will always be remembered for being one of the greatest basketball players in history.

Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan is without a doubt, one of the greatest athletes that has ever existed. He came from humble beginnings and rose into the basketball league as one of the greatest players ever. He was drafted in 1984 by the Chicago Bulls as a shooting guard, and was one of the most popular players. He played for 15 seasons in the NBA as lucky number 23.

He won six championships for the Chicago Bulls and had a close bond with former teammate Scottie Pippen, and won the prestigious NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award six times. ESPN named him the greatest North American athlete of the 20th century.

LeBron James

LeBron James plays for the LA Lakers and has often been compared to Michael Jordan. He was drafted for the Cleveland Cavaliers as power forward in 2003 as their first pick, and was named 2004’s NBA Rookie of the Year. He won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award in both 2009 and 2010.

LeBron also played for the Miami Heat, and has won three NBA Championships, four NBA MVP Awards, and two Olympic gold medals. James is one of America’s most influential athletes and has millions of fans all over the world.
