So, you fancy a swim in the Laguna Caliente. You might want to keep in mind that its name translates into English as ‘hot lagoon’. Whereas some may marvel at the wonders of a naturally hot Laguna, this doesn’t mean you should swim in its waters.

The Laguna is located right in the middle of a volcano that reaches temperatures well above boiling. If you find yourself swimming in the waters, it might be the last thing you ever do. As of recently, visitors even need a permit to enter the area.
