In 2003, Robert De Niro’s spokesperson announced that the actor had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. He underwent surgery at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York in December of that year. His doctors revealed the cancer was caught early from a routine check up and due to this everyone was optimistic he would be ok.

Following treatment, Robert went into remission and set to make a full recovery from the cancer. Today, De Niro is now 15 years cancer-free.
