21. Rush

One of the few Canadian bands to make our list, Rush was formed in Toronto in 1968. Described as a Hard Rock and Heavy Metal band, Rush actually went through quite a few formations before getting to its longest line-up in 1974.

Rush draws much of its inspiration from science fiction, fantasy, and philosophy. After 19 studio albums, Rush finally disbanded in 2018. They are often noted as the influencers behind other bands, including Foo Fighters, Metallica, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
