Royal And Music Power Couples Unite At The Lion King Premiere

The Lion King is one of the most anticipated Disney live action movies of the year. The 1994 original has been revamped by Disney with an all-star cast including Beyonce Knowles, Donald Glover, Seth Rogan and Billy Eichner to name a few.

Last night, the UK premiere brought out the royalty in the form of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle turned up on the orange carpet to support Disney’s blockbuster. Despite the anticipation to see live-action remake of the classic movie, fans and the press went wild for the conversation between the British royals, and hip hop royalty Jay Z and Beyonce.

Meghan and the pop star embraced for a few seconds while she declared her love for the royal couple and telling Meghan her new baby Archie was “so beautiful”. Beyonce has expressed her love for the Duchess and hailed her in a tribute for Black History Month.

Jay Z had some wise words for new father Prince Harry to and told him to ” always find time for yourselves”. The two fathers then engaged in a discussion about their children with Prince Harry asking how hip hop couple’s young twins Sir and Rumi were doing.

While Beyonce nor Meghan have ever shown signs of a friendship in the past, they have a very close mutual friend in top tennis player Serena Williams. Earlier in the week Meghan was spotted cheering on her close friend during Wimbledon.

Despite being on maternity leave, Meghan turned up to the premiere in a stunning black gown by designer Jason Wu. The royals also met the rest of the cast including close, personal friend Elton John and husband David Furnish who were guests at their wedding in May 2018.

Lion King hits theaters on July 18th.
