Reeves once had a best friend who went by the name of River Phoenix – maybe you’ve heard of him? The stars bonded during the production of My Own Private Idaho in 1993 and immediately became best friends.

Sadly, Phoenix died later that year of a heart-related problem. Speaking about his friend, Reeves said: “River was a remarkable artist and a rare human being. I miss him every day.” We can’t imagine having a best friend who died.
