Why Julia Roberts Will Always Be Hollywood’s Golden Girl

She has acting in her blood

Julia Roberts grew up in Smyrna, Georgia and was the youngest of three children. Her parents were both actors who ran a workshop for aspiring writers and performers, which is when Julia was first introduced to her future career.

Roberts admitted that if it wasn’t for her parents, she never would have pursued the vocation. She explained “It just wouldn’t have occurred to me, my dad would take my sister and me to plays when we were young, like six or seven years old. We saw ‘Hair’ in New York on summer vacation. We would go see Yul Brynner do ‘The King and I’ in Atlanta.”
