Why Julia Roberts Will Always Be Hollywood’s Golden Girl

Despite getting great review for her role in The Pelican Brief, it wasn’t all uphill for Julia. She hit a rough patch in 1996 when she took on the thriller Mary Reilly. The film was a remake of Robert Louis Stevenson’s horror story Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
The film was hyped up and people were really excited to see Roberts take on a main role in the film. However, when it hit theaters, the film bombed and took in $12 million against a $47 million budget with many critics claiming it was less than satisfactory.
