John Lennon was famous for his round glasses but many people were unaware of how badly he actually needed the glasses. Lennon’s optometrist in New York admitted that the singer was “very nearsighted” and probably couldn’t see without his glasses.

For many years, he tried to not wear glasses but his sight got increasingly worse and contact lenses were not an option. In later years, his eyesight was so bad he was declared legally blind.
