In the first Home Alone movie, the rest of the Mccallister family were stuck in Paris while Kevin was fending of the burglars in their Chicago home. There were plenty of scenes shot in the Chicago area including the O’Hare International Airport which was supposed to be the Paris-Orly Airport.

In addition, the business class seats on the flight were built on the basketball court of a local high school. This was the same school that was used to shoot the scene of Kevin running through a flooded basement.
