In Home Alone, all of the action in the first movie happens at the Mccallister household in Chicago. Due to the success of the film, the home became a tourist attraction and it is located at 671 Lincoln Avenue in Winnetka, Illinois.

Unlike many films, scenes in the kitchen, staircase and foyer, were actually shot in the home while the dining room and bedroom scenes were shot on a soundstage. Despite the house being iconic in film history, it was sold for a mere $1.5 million in 2012.
