In Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, Chris Columbus wanted the movie to feel as Christmassy as possible so production spent a fortune paying companies who make artificial snow to put it all over central park where they were filming.

Just when the filming of these scenes were complete, New York had a blizzard and got a couple feet of snow blanketing the city. Needless to say, this was infuriating for production and their budget as the artificial snow could have been avoided!
