If you want to go and stay at The Plaza Hotel in New York City and use the famous swimming pool that Kevin practised his cannon balls in, you might be a little disappointed to find out that the pool does not exist in the hotel.

In fact, the pool scene was shot at the Four Seasons hotel in Chicago, where the vast majority of the film was shot. The Plaza doesn’t even have a pool and their FAQ section on their website reads “Despite Kevin McCallister’s famous cannonball, The Plaza does not currently house a swimming pool.”
