There is no other actress alive today that is viewed more as “America’s sweetheart” than Meg Ryan. She starred in 1986’s Top Gun and went onto huge hits such as 1989’s When Harry Met Sally opposite funnyman Billy Crystal, and opposite Tom Hanks in 1990’s Joe Versus The Volcano, 1993’s romantic comedy Sleepless in Seattle, and 1998’s You’ve Got Mail, 1994’s gut-wrenching When a Man Loves a Woman, and many other romance-themed movies.If Meg Ryan was in a movie, you knew it was going to be a hit.

She has been nominated for many Golden Globe Awards as well as other awards. After all her major hits in the ‘80s and ‘90s, Meg starred in a few independent movies and eventually started producing and directing. Meg Ryan was married to actor Dennis Quaid, and they had one child together, Jack Quaid (who played a minor role in 2012’s The Hunger Games). She supports the following charities and foundations: CARE, Equality Now, and Pangea Day.
