February is the month of love, and who doesn’t want to be in love? Love is the only thing in the world that completely takes your breath away, and consumes your every day thoughts. But, love doesn’t always last, and two people can hook up and want to be together forever, but it doesn’t always work out that way.
No longer do the words, “till death do us part,” have much meaning in this modern age, as people get divorced as quickly as they get married. Celebrities are under the scrutiny of the public eye 24/7, and sometimes they do not always get guided in the right direction when it comes to matrimony. Here are some of the shortest marriages in Hollywood:
Carmen Electra & Dennis Rodman
Way back when, Dennis Rodman was an eccentric basketball player, and Carmen Electra was a sexy actress on the hit show Baywatch. The first time the two met was in 1998, after Carmen’s mom passed away.
Dennis played for the Los Angeles Lakers during that season. It was an emotional time for both of them, and the two eloped to Las Vegas in 1998. The marriage lasted just under 5 months, and Carmen stated that it was “the worst”.
Drew Barrymore & Jeremy Thomas
Drew Barrymore is a total success story. She went from angelic child star on E.T. (which is one of the highest grossing films of all time), to rebellious teenager, to comeback queen! She has always been a free spirit, and a bit of an enigma in the public eye.
Drew has been married and divorced quite a number of times, but her shortest marriage was her 1994 one to bar owner Jeremy Thomas. The two only lasted a mere 30 days and it was over. Drew was only a child back then, at 19 years of age. At 19, what does anybody really know about the responsibility of marriage?
Britney Spears & Jason Alexander
Britney Spears has had a rollercoaster ride of a life. She went through a tender romance with former Mickey Mouse Club co-star Justin Timberlake, and dated many men afterwards, including Kevin Federline who she had two children with.
Afterwards, Britney went through a tough time and the media were relentless, not leaving her alone for a minute. She found love with childhood friend Jason Alexander. They got married in Los Vegas on New Year’s 2004, and the marriage only lasted 55 hours. It seems like Vegas is not an indicator of long lasting marriages.
