The location was carefully considered

With the careful construction that went into the pyramids, of course the Egyptians didn’t just choose the location of them randomly. They are situated on the West Bank of the River Nile, which according to Egyptian mythology was the land of the setting sun.

The Nile was sacred to the Egyptians so it would make sense that the pyramids intended for the Pharaohs would be placed in a special place. In addition, it was a convenient location to transfer materials to during construction.
