The boerboel originates from South Africa and is one of the strongest dog breeds out there. Traditionally, they were farm dogs and trained to work for their masters. In addition, they are good family dogs and tend to socialize well with children.

The greatest problem with the boerboel is that they are clingy dogs and want to be with their owners all the time and follow them everywhere. They can easily become lonely and depressed and can be aggressive to others.
