Also known as the African Lion Hound, the South African native dog is known to keep lions away from its owner while hunting. It’s protective nature means that these dogs aren’t friendly to strangers and can be quite aggressive.

They have traits that could make them a dangerous dog but if they are socialized properly and from a young age they can be fiercely protective dog of your family and your home. However, they are a high maintenance and require a lot of exercise and tend to bore easily.
