To Be Continued… Eventually

Today, when we watch the first Back To The Future, there is a title card that appears at the end saying ‘To Be Continued’. However, if you saw this in the cinema back in 1985, you would have had to imagine their next adventure in your head.

The cliffhanger at the end of the first film was intended as a little joke and there were no initial plans for a sequel. After its breakout success, the two sequels were filmed back-to-back and the ‘To Be Continued’ card was added for the home release.
