Gillette wanted to highlight just how safe their razors were to use. Fair enough, it’s a unique selling point compared to their competitors. Weirdly, they thought the best way to convey this was by showing a baby shave their face.

We imagine it also had something to do with getting people hooked to the brand early – fathers would buy Gillette for their sons, and so on. Either way, we don’t quite understand the point of this particular advert.
