NBC’s Texas aired from the 4th of August, 1980, until the 31st of December, 1982. The cast included Beverlee McKinsey, Carla Borelli, Pam Long, Catherine Hickland, Morgan Freeman, and more. It was another spin-off of Another World, the other spin-off being Somerset.

The show began with Iris Cory Bancroft stepping onto a plane and leaving for Houston, after visiting Dennis who was her son. Dennis had moved to Texas with the love of his life to open a beautiful art gallery. The story focused on the development within the lives of the wealthy Bellmans and Wheelers, and middle-class Marshalls, and all their interest in the ranching and oil industries.This soap opera was a bit different as certain musical artists, as well as politicians appeared as guests.
