NBC’s Bright Promise ran from the 29th of September, 1969, until the 31st of March, 1972. The cast included Dana Andrews, Susan Brown, Gail Kobe, Anthony Geary, Dabney Coleman, Sherry Alberoni, Coleen Gray, Mark Miller, and more. It was about the students and teachers of a fictional college called Bancroft College.
The main character of the show was the president of the college, played by actor Dana Andrews. It centered also around the Jones and Pierce families. Sandra Jones had become the main character, who got married to a Pierce after college. The soapie was created by the same team that had created the massively successful General Hospital – Frank and Doris Hursley. They retired after creating this. It was an interesting soap opera as it concentrated on the youth, the “bright promise of tomorrow.”
