The cast of CBS’s The Secret Storm included Jada Rowland, Joan Crawford, Ken Kercheval, Roy Schneider, and Audrey Landers, among others. It ran from the 1st of February, 1954, until the the 8th of February, 1974. The story was centered around the Ames family, a well-to-do family in the fictional town of Woodbridge, later identified as located in New York.

It followed the story of Peter Ames raising his three children Susan, Amy and Jerry alone, as his wife Ellen is killed in the very first episode. Peter ends up getting remarried twice.Oscar winner Joan Crawford, partook in this soapie, and was very well-known in the industry. From 1954 until 1962, the soapie ran for fifteen minutes, until 1962, where it carried on running for 30 minutes.
